Drop In

St Luke’s Church’s mission is “Loving Jesus, loving our neighbour”. So drop-in has no other purpose than to be a distinctively Christian place of inclusive hospitality.

Friendly and well attended twice a week, drop-in aims to provide food, shelter, community and spiritual support to members of the local community and people who are marginalised.

Drop-in is about meeting needs and being a Christian witness to the justice of God’s Kingdom in the inner city. We are light-touch: our material provision and acts of worship are simple.

The Drop In is open on Sundays and Wednesdays from 11am until 1pm.

On Sundays guests put their name down for a breakfast bap which is prepared on a first-come first-served basis. At some point someone will lead brief prayers. On Wednesdays at noon there is a reflection or a brief service of Holy Communion, after which guests are served a hot meal.

If you are interested in helping out at the drop in, either in the kitchen, setting up or cleaning up, chatting with people when we’re open or helping to coordinate the rotas for all that, please contact Sam at samueljmford@hotmail.co.uk.
