St Luke's
Loving Jesus, loving our neighbour
At the heart of the inner city

Working with the Most Marginalised

…for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.

Matthew 25: 35-36

St Luke’s is committed to befriending, listening to and supporting those people who are marginalised in our society or have fallen upon hard times.
Our flag ship project is Drop In. Drop In meets on Sunday and Wednesday mornings (11am-1pm) in our converted crypt. Sunday Drop In involves pool, bacon sandwiches and optional prayers. Wednesday Drop In involves pool, lunch and optional Holy Communion. Both are laid back, friendly events where people not familiar with church, or not sure what they think about God, will feel relaxed, unjudged and able to be themselves.

We have a lot to learn from people on the margins and our prayer is that God will transform us through the encounter.
